Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Manager, Finance & Accounting at Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd, located in Shah Alam. The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial and accounting operations, with key focus areas in monthly closing and reporting, costing and inventory management, and compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monthly Closing & Reporting
o Support monthly and year-end closing processes in Sage 300, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
o Prepare reconciliations and financial schedules, and report results to FM / SFM.
o Assist in analysis and reporting packages for HQ.
• Costing & Inventory (Lead Role)
o Lead product costing and inventory accounting, including variance analysis and reconciliation.
o Review and validate BOM (Bill of Materials), production costs, and inventory movements.
o Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Planning teams to ensure accurate inventory records.
o Participate in stock counts and review adjustment postings.
• Teamwork & Guidance
o Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of ledgers.
o Provide clear instructions, guidance, and training to junior staff.
o Support smooth collaboration across teams during closing and audit processes.
• Compliance & Control
o Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and local tax/regulatory requirements.
o Strengthen internal controls over costing, inventory, and reporting processes.
o Support audit requirements and respond to queries from HQ
• Additional Responsibilities
o Willing to travel to factory sites when required.
o Contribute to system/process improvements in Sage 300 and related workflows.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA / CPA) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing / costing environment.
• Strong knowledge of costing, inventory, and BOM (Bill of Materials).
• Hands-on experience with Sage 300 strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to train and supervise junior staff.
• Strong communication and reporting skills in English.
• Willingness to travel for factory visits / audits.
