As we continue to expand our presence in the Australian market, we are seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to support our ongoing success.

 

 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for managing all tax‑related aspects of the business, including compliance, reporting, and communication with tax authorities. You will work closely with internal departments to ensure accurate data collection, maintain strong tax governance, and support broader financial reporting and budgeting activities.

  • Manage all tax compliance requirements including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, CIT, CbCR, APA, and ACR
  • Liaise with internal departments to collect data required for tax calculations
  • Evaluate tax regulations and recommend policies to minimise tax exposure
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes related to taxation
  • Review and improve systems, processes, and controls
  • Act as the primary contact between Kia and relevant tax agencies
  • Ensure all weekly, monthly, and annual reporting deadlines are met
  • Prepare and review allocated balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage month‑end closing activities with the Finance Manager
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management packs and cost centre reporting
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and business plans
  • Deliver reporting requirements to HQ in line with deadlines
  • Provide support for financial accounting duties as required

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • CA or CPA qualification (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting environment (automotive industry experience desirable)
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time‑management capabilities
  • Approachable and confident working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and improve business processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • SAP experience desirable
  • A proactive, positive “can‑do” attitude
